Satterfield & Pontikes, a large construction firm with offices in San Antonio, will tackle the $68-million Fredericksburg Middle School construction project.
Trustees unanimously OK’d the contract award to the firm on Wednesday, March 22, at the Fredericksburg Independent School District Administration Building.
This is the largest construction project, approved by voters in 2022, begun in 2020 with study by a 27-member committee of community members.
“We had a total of a 240-point scale,” said Tim Strucely with Lockwood, Andrews and Newnam, school program managing firm. “Each team had to submit members of its team — including a project manager, superintendent, assistant superintendent and others. At the end of the day, Satterfield & Pontikes scored highest.”
LAN and architects Huckabee did much of the proposal evaluations.
