Stafford Municipal School District officials recently hosted a topping out ceremony for its new $33.8 million middle school now under construction. A topping out ceremony is a tradition observed by many in the building industry and is held when the last beam is placed atop a structure.
Trustees, district administrators, community leaders, and construction officials gathered to sign their names on the last beam on Thursday, July 18. Construction is expected to be completed in June 2020 in time for the start of classes in August 2020.
“The new middle school is aesthetically appealing and offers unique instructional opportunities for Stafford MSD students,” said JP Grom, vice president at Lockwood Andrews and Newsman, Inc, (LAN), the firm serving as the program manager for the bond program.
