Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam, Inc. (LAN) announces the completion of Tomball Independent School District’s (TISD) West Intermediate School, celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on May 2, 2025. The new, state-of-the-art campus will serve 5th and 6th grade students and will welcome the inaugural class in August 2025.
Located in Tomball, Texas, West Intermediate School was built to address the district’s growing enrollment needs. Construction began in March 2022 on the 119,090-square-foot campus, which will accommodate up to 950 students and staff. The campus is part of a multi-building master-planned site that will feature a new comprehensive high school and the recently opened West Elementary school in the western portion of Tomball ISD. The campus was completed within the $34 million budget and delivered ahead of schedule to the district.
LAN provided comprehensive program management services for the project, guiding Tomball ISD from bond planning and site selection through design coordination and construction oversight. This approach helped ensure the facility was delivered on time, within budget and aligned with the district’s long-term goals.
“The completion of West Intermediate School marks a major milestone for Tomball ISD and the community it serves,” said Robert Wilbanks, AIA, senior associate and senior program manager at LAN. “We are honored to have supported the district throughout this process and are excited to see the positive impact this new campus will have for years to come.”
Tomball ISD serves over 22,000 students across 24 campuses throughout northwest Harris County and parts of Montgomery County.
