In December 2019, the city of Conroe, Texas, broke ground on its new Central Wastewater Treatment Plant—a $60-million project that will come online in spring 2022. The treatment plant—Conroe’s largest-ever public-works project—will increase the city’s treatment capacity by 50%. The plant, being built by LEM Construction Co., will have a 6-million-gallon-per-day capacity with the ability to be expanded to 12 MGD.

DeAngela Washington, graphic designer with project design engineer Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam, captured the construction of the plant’s aeration basin using a Canon 80D camera on Aug. 21.
