Profile

Mr. Gonzalez is Team Leader of Houston’s Municipal/Roadway group. Ricky has three decades of experience managing and designing roadway, infrastructure, mobility, and traffic control projects for municipal clients throughout Houston. With a specialization in complex urban street projects, Ricky has a thorough understanding of context sensitive design guidelines and requirements, utility relocation and coordination, federal funding requirements, TxDOT interface, and City of Houston approvals and criteria. While working with various TIRZ and management districts for the last 8 years, Ricky has been able to provide major infrastructure upgrades around Houston to help spark growth and redevelopment. Currently working with METRO on their Universal Accessibly initiative has allowed Ricky to offer his many years of experience to improve access for all, to hundreds of METRO’s bus stops.

He is bilingual in English and Spanish and has prepared materials and presented at numerous public meetings to educate and inform residents, businesses, and other stakeholders of project impacts and goals.

Ricky was named the 2022 Engineer of the Year by Houston Hispanic Architects and Engineers for his positive contributions to society and the Hispanic community.
