LAN was contracted by the Union Pacific Railroad to provide owner’s representation and construction observation for a new Intermodal Facility on approximately 360 acres south of Dallas, Texas, and east of the UP mainline, Ennis Sub. This facility consists of switching leads, receiving/departure track, support tracks, unloading tracks, trailer parking, gate truck processing entrance, administration building, maintenance repair and crane servicing facilities, locomotive ready and inspection facilities and wye track. LAN’s services included:

• Review of design-build submittal plans, specifications, budget, and schedule covering project scope of work, as requested
• Coordination and operational review of site infrastructure features including track work, locations of utilities and underground layout, buildings, roadways, lighting, and drainage structures
• Project meeting attendance and on-site oversight, coordination and control between contractors and railroad activities
• Review and comments for design-build adjustments, modifications, and/or change orders as requested
• Verification that contractors were in compliance with construction plans, specifications, and work schedule
