TxDOT engaged LAN to provide plans, specifications, and estimates for improving the SH 87 ferry landing sites at Galveston and Bolivar. This project involves comprehensive renovations to Galveston Slip #1 and Bolivar Slips #4 and #6, including A-frame lifting mechanisms, transfer spans, and bulkhead cathodic protection. The work also addresses medical priority boarding lanes, shoreline stabilization, and utility upgrades. By designing construction sequencing plans to keep at least two ferry slips operational at all times, LAN ensured uninterrupted service for the millions of passengers these facilities serve annually.
