San Jacinto Battleground State Historic Site Renovations – Texas Parks and Wildlife Department

La Porte Texas

LAN performed facility renovations and infrastructure improvements at the San Jacinto Battleground State Historic Site. Projects included repair and replacement of a bulkhead wall along the Houston ship channel and renovations to modernize restroom facilities and amenities.

Improvements to the existing 1,600 LF sheet pile bulkhead wall included demolition and replacement of existing bulkhead wall cap, sheet pile coating and cleaning, replacement of wale beams and connections, and installation of a concrete walkway and retaining wall for erosion protection. Additional work also included renovations to a historic restroom for ADA compliance and addition of ADA walkways and ramps.

Due to the high-profile nature of the project, significant coordination was required with Texas Parks & Wildlife Department to minimize disruptions to park visitors and preserve the historic aesthetic of the facilities.
