LAN is providing on-call engineering and staff augmentation to the San Gabriel Valley Water Company (SGVWC), which provides water utility service to a population of more than 481,000 in the Los Angeles County and Fontana Water division service areas. Serving as an extension of staff under this contract, LAN supports the agency on-site as necessary for operations.
The Los Angeles County division operates 36 groundwater wells, 36 storage reservoirs, and more than 550 miles of water distribution mains ranging up to 36 inches in diameter. The 45-square-mile service area covers customers in Arcadia, Baldwin Park, El Monte, Hacienda Heights, City of Industry, Irwindale, La Puente, Montebello, Monterey Park, Pico Rivera, Rosemead, San Gabriel, Santa Fe Springs, South El Monte, South San Gabriel, West Covina, and Whittier as well as unincorporated areas of Los Angeles County.
Fontana Water Company, division of SGVWC operates 34 groundwater wells, 17 storage reservoirs, and over 655 miles of water distribution mains ranging up to 42 inches in diameter. Facilities also include a 29-MGD conventional surface water treatment plant, which processes local surface water from Lytle Creek and State Water Project supplies from Metropolitan Water District and San Bernardino Valley Municipal Water District. The service area is 52 square miles and includes most of Fontana, portions of Rancho Cucamonga and Rialto, and unincorporated areas of San Bernardino County.
