LAN leads the Halls Bayou Bond Implementation Program for the Harris County Flood Control District (HCFCD). Halls Bayou covers 45 square miles with 37 tributaries and a population of 160,100. The program involves 15 projects for detention basins and channel enhancements. LAN will be evaluating engineering consultants and overseeing project management, design, QA/QC, and construction.
Along with program management, LAN is overseeing the crucial right-of-way acquisition process, encompassing 580 parcels. LAN will also manage the complete life cycle of 15 distinct projects, comprising 21 detention basins with a storage capacity exceeding 10,000 acre-feet, and nearly ten miles of channel enhancements to boost conveyance. Simultaneously, the City of Houston, Harris County Engineering Departments, and Harris County Precincts are collaboratively designing and executing eight stormwater drainage projects that synergize with the flood damage reduction efforts within the Halls Program.
LAN is involved in the application for and management of $17.6M in CDBG-DR, $21.8M in TWDB-FIF and $9.9M in FEMA LPDM grant funds with an additional $236.1M in CDBG pending approval.
