LAN is leading the evaluation of fourth ferry landing options for TxDOT’s SH 87 facilities, aiming to enhance traffic flow and reduce wait times. This study examines staging areas, ROW acquisition, environmental concerns, and operational challenges. Proposed upgrades include new vehicular bridges, transfer spans, and shoreline improvements, matching existing facility configurations. The findings will guide future construction efforts to increase capacity and efficiency, ensuring the ferry system meets the region’s growing demand.
