Profile
Mr. Woodward is a Senior Project Manager of Houston’s Municipal/Roadway group. Mark has more than two decades of experience managing and designing roadway and public utility improvement projects throughout the Greater Houston area, with projects ranging in scope from complete roadway reconstruction, to hike and bike trails, to the addition of specialized streetscape facilities. With a focus on mobility, accessibility, safety, and drainage factors, Mark has a deep understanding of how context-sensitive design can have an outsized impact on quality of life for local businesses and residents. An accomplished Team Lead, Mark acts as Project Manager for a 20-person LAN team dedicated to METRO’s Universal Accessibility Initiative. Under this effort, Mark has led identification, assessment, and design improvements to more than 400 bus stop stops throughout urban, commercial, industrial and residential environments in southwest Houston including the Memorial Villages and special districts such as tax reinvestment zones (TIRZs), management districts, and redevelopment authorities.
Bilingual in English and Spanish, Mark is comfortable presenting project goals to clients and stakeholders. He frequently ensures compliance with TxDOT, federally-funding measures, Texas Accessibility Standards, and the criteria of Houston’s numerous special districts and zones.
