LAN takes on the MS 150

LAN riders joined 13,000 others as they embarked on a 2 day, 150 mile journey from Houston to Austin, benefiting the National MS Society.

Multiple Sclerosis, is a disease of the central nervous system that disrupts the flow of information between the brain and the body. Each person diagnosed observe different symptoms, but common symptoms reported are numbness and tingling of limbs of the body, blindness and paralysis. The society’s vision is a world free of MS, so their goal is to raise money to fund research for a cure and provide services to people affected by MS. Their hope is to make is so each person with MS can live their best life with more connections to information, resources and others with MS to share experiences.

There are MS150’s that take place all over the nation but the BP MS150 (sponsored by British Petroleum) boasts the largest ride in terms of funds raised in North America. In 2016, the ride raised $16 million.

LAN has assembled a team of 20 riders, employees and friends and family to ride. The riders have not only putting in a lot of time and effort towards training, but as a requirement, participants must raise $400.00 each. With overwhelming support they received, the LANtastic Voyager’s (LAN’s team) increased their fundraising goal to $600.00 per person.

Collectively, the team has raised over $12,500 through fundraisers and support from family, friends, and networks.
