Goose Creek Consolidated Independent School District (GCCISD) proudly celebrated a momentous occasion with the grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony of its brand-new Lee High School Fine Arts building. The state-of-the-art facility promises to be a cornerstone of artistic excellence, innovation, and inspiration for students and the community alike.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony, attended by community leaders and educators on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, marked the culmination of years of dedication, planning, and hard work.

Planning, engineering and program management firm, Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam, Inc. (LAN) served as GCCISD’s 2019 bond program manager. “The new fine arts facility for Lee High School is a huge milestone for the growth and expansion Goose Creek CISD has experienced over the last decade,” said JP Grom, vice president at LAN.

The new Lee High School Fine Arts building was designed to accommodate GCCISD’s award-winning band, orchestra, choir, and dance programs. This new building will provide an improved space for rehearsal, performance and offices for student groups and faculty. Goose Creek CISD is considered one of the fastest-growing districts in Texas. Driven by massive growth in southeast Houston and plans for multi-billion-dollar refinery projects, this growing district is projecting more than 2,250 new students over the next decade.
