Profile

Mr. Yavas has more than 30 years of planning and design experience with sanitary sewer conveyance, storm drains, and water facilities projects in Southern California covering Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, and Los Angeles counties. His background includes hydrology and hydraulics, erosion mitigation, channel rehabilitation, drainage design, stormwater quality and utility relocation coordination in support of various major transit and transportation projects throughout California such as PA/ED and PS&E preparations for RCTC on I-215 and OCTA with I-5 and I 55. He has experience with major alternative delivery projects such as Alameda Corridor and LA Metro’s Chinatown Aerial Station.

His experience also includes staff augmentation and program management assignments with public agencies for various capital improvement projects such as land development reviews for different counties and water agencies. He served as Chief Drainage Engineer for Transportation Corridor Agency (TCA) responsible all aspects of the 420 lane miles of toll roads in Orange County. Cenk has been responsible for all aspects of planning and design of public and private drainage, sewer, and water facilities. During the last 20 years, Cenk has led the design of numerous capital improvement program (CIP) projects and worked with various agencies, as well as coordinated extensively with regulatory permitting agencies such as the Regional Water Quality Control Board, California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), and California Coastal Commission. Cenk is a diplomate water resources engineer (D.WRE) certified by the American Academy of Water Resources Engineers. Cenk has extensive experience in design and construction of infrastructure projects such as pipelines, pump stations, reservoirs, storm drains, and transportation facilities.
