AWWA Appoints Christine Kirby and Justin Reeves as Voting Members to Standards Committees
The American Water Works Association (AWWA) has appointed Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam, Inc. (LAN) engineers Christine Kirby, P.E., and Justin Reeves, P.E., as voting members to various standards committees.
As AWWA committee members, Kirby and Reeves join an elite panel of experts responsible for providing technical expertise in the development of standards for the water, wastewater and reclaimed water utility industry.
Kirby will serve on the Ball Valve, Knife Gate Valve and Protective Interior Coatings for Valves and Hydrants Committees while Reeves will serve on the Fiberglass, Weirs, Troughs and Baffles Committee as well as the Grooved and Shouldered Joint Committee.
During their two-year tenure, Kirby and Reeves will help to maintain and revise standards and manuals related to their respective committees, attend committee annual meetings, and support and articulate the committee’s vision, mission and values.
Established in 1881, the American Water Works Association is the largest nonprofit, scientific and educational association dedicated to managing and treating water, the world’s most important resource. The AWWA Standards Council is responsible for the development of standards and other related publications for the fulfillment of the objectives of the Association. There are 70 Standards committees, 118 subcommittees and 6 Standards Council Standing Committees.
