LAN Adds Nasiha Alibegovic, PE, CFM, to Houston Stormwater Team

Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam, Inc. (LAN) has welcomed Nasiha Alibegovic, PE, CFM, to its Houston office as a team leader on the firm's stormwater team, strengthening its ability to help communities address flood risk and plan critical drainage infrastructure improvements.

Alibegovic brings 15 years of experience in stormwater management, flood mitigation planning, hydrologic and hydraulic analysis and project management. She is a licensed professional engineer in Texas, a certified floodplain manager and holds a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from Texas A&M University.

Before joining LAN, Alibegovic served as a department manager in the planning division of the Harris County Flood Control District, where she led the delivery of feasibility studies of various scales. Her experience includes developing flood risk reduction strategies, managing stakeholder engagement efforts and implementing innovative tools to improve project delivery and collaboration. Her experience also includes managing complex flood mitigation and feasibility studies, including countywide level-of-service assessments, FEMA Risk MAP initiatives and grant-funded projects focused on flood risk reduction and community resilience.

In her role at LAN, Alibegovic will lead project teams and serve as project manager for stormwater planning, flood mitigation and drainage improvement projects in the Gulf Coast. Drawing on her experience managing complex studies and stakeholder engagement efforts, she will help clients evaluate infrastructure needs, prioritize investments and develop solutions to address flooding challenges.
