Nick Thanos, LEED BD+C, joins planning, engineering and program management firm Lockwood, Andrews & Newman Inc. (LAN) as program manager in the Austin office. In his new role, Thanos will support K-12 school district program management projects in the Central Texas region.

Thanos’ responsibilities include providing expert oversight of all project phases and managing the teams and resources for large-scale programs. Working specifically with the Elgin Independent School District on their 2021 $190M bond program, he will ensure all project costs remain within budget, supervise quality control and guarantee projects are delivered on schedule.

‘Nick Thanos’ management experience in the industry will bring valuable skills to our firm,” said JP Grom, LAN’s vice president and business group director for program management. “With his addition, we’re eager to further improve our services to school districts in the Central Texas region.”

Thanos joins LAN with more than 20 years of experience in project management of construction and architectural design. Previously, Thanos served as a construction project manager for the Round Rock Independent School District. There, he managed design and construction of new projects and renovation of existing facilities. Prior to that, he worked for Fields & Associates Architects as a project manager and designed multimillion-dollar K-12 school projects.

Thanos holds a bachelor’s degree in architecture and environmental design from the University of Houston. He has been a member of the Association for Learning Environments since 2015 and served as president from 2019-2020.
