Mackrena Ramos, P.E.Senior Associate, Team Leader
Mackrena Ramos joined LAN in 1999 and has 18 years of engineering experience in large diameter water main design including management of the Surface Water Transmission Program. The City of Houston’s Surface Water Transmission Program (SWTP) was established in 1985 and includes more than 300 miles of pipelines with a construction cost of over $400M.
Mackrena is the SWTP Assistant Program Manager and is responsible for meeting Program budgets and deadlines as well as tracking performance measures. She supervises the work of design consultants, professional and technical personnel, the review and approval of designs and related construction changes, and is the liaison with the client. Projects and services provided in the Program include trenchless design such as tunneling, horizontal directional drilling, and slip lining; corrosion design and commissioning; hydraulic and transient analysis; construction phase services; and condition assessment of the existing water system. Her primary focus also includes capital improvement planning, design quality, cost reduction reviews, and optimal phasing of improvements for the Program.
