Nueces County Appoints Scott Harris, P.E., to CCRTA Board of Directors

(CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – March 18, 2016) Nueces County has appointed Scott Harris, P.E., to its Corpus Christi Regional Transportation Authority (CCRTA) board of directors. An eleven member board of directors governs the CCRTA, which was created in 1985 to provide quality accessible and affordable transportation to the residents of Nueces and San Patricio Counties.

During his two year tenure, Scott will support and articulate the vision, mission, and values of the CCRTA, assist other board members in development of policy, participate in the hiring, supervision, and evaluation of the agency’s CEO, lead strategic planning initiatives, monitor finances and ensure adequate funding to accomplish programs, and participate in long-range planning and modification of strategic plans.

“It’s an honor to serve the CCRTA as a board director,” said Harris, who also serves as the chairman of the City of Corpus Christi’s Transportation Advisory Commission (CTAC). “In the next two years, my goal is to ensure quality customer service to our riders, especially our lower income and disadvantaged citizens, and further improve CCRTA’s image as a responsible and valuable service provider to our community.”

Harris is a regional manager at Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam, Inc. (LAN), a planning, engineering and program management firm, and leads its Corpus Christi office. He has more than 20 years of experience in private and public sector engineering projects.
